John and Edward Under Pressure, Jamie Archer leaves

John and Edward must have felt the knives out for them this week after last weekend’s X Factor storm. So X Factor song choice this week for Jedward, Under Pressure – the Queen / David Bowie classic. An apt choice for John and Edward which has been changed from the initial one of ‘Radio Ga Ga’. After last week’s show when they found themselves in the bottom two with Welsh beauty Lucie Jones, the X Factor duo mentored by Louis Walsh had to endure a barrage of protests that threatened to spark a national debate and an Ofcom enquiry when Simon Cowell saved them and the public vote meant Lucie had to leave.

John and Edward are through to another week. The sing off has Lloyd Daniels up against Jamie Archer. Jamie sang better than Lloyd – no real suprise there. Simon Cowell and Dannii save Jamie, Louis and Cheryl save Lloyd. Deadlock again – and its Jamie Archer going home. Thanks to everyone who voted for Jedward, I’m sure the boys will be very grateful. The boys put in their best performance to-date, singing and rapping their way through a melody of Under Pressure and Ice Baby. Both John and Edward showed they have the bottle for this music malarky, the singing parts were the best they have done and they did three long raps where its hard enough just to remember the words let alone show the rhythm these two have got. Vote for the boys to see them through another week and see what they can come up with next time around.

So John and Edward under pressure, the headlines have already been written and the bookies once again have Jedward favourites to leave X Factor tomorrow night along with the likes of Lloyd Daniels and Jamie Archer. If John and Edward do find themselves in the sing-off again however, it will be the judges under pressure, intense pressure to kick them off the show.

Dannii Minogue, Lucie Jones mentor was so upset about last week’s result that she has reportedly threatened to quit X Factor altogether if Jedward are saved ahead of her one remaining act Stacey Solomon. The Australian singer / actress was fuming after the drama of last week’s results show and has reportedly been blasting away at Simon all week for not axing the controversial duo from Dublin. An X Factor insider said: “Dannii is fuming and just disillusioned at the whole show”

“She was devastated to lose Lucie last week, and she couldn’t take it if remaining act Stacey also got the boot and the Grimes stayed in.”

Dannii publicly blamed herself for Sunday’s outcome, saying as she consoled Lucie with a hug “I must have done something wrong”.

With Cheryl Cole likely to vote against the boys and Louis certain to vote with them, once again it could be down to Simon Cowell to decide the outcome should Jedward not get enough votes to keep out of the bottom two. Simon was slated himself last week when he took what many regard to be the easy option and go to deadlock. ITV executives will no doubt also be feeling the pressure, as it was revealed this week that with John and Edward in the show, a 30 second advert in the break sells for more money than without them. Mr Cowell will no doubt be acutely aware of this and his decision, should it come down to it, will not be an easy one.

Meanwhile Jedward continue to gather support from celebrities in the music business with Pixie Lott amongst their newest fans. The singer has revealed she’s a fan of theirs saying: “I’ve written hundreds of songs and would love to give one to Jedward”

“They aren’t great singers, but they are great entertainers. I think it would be fun.”
