John and Edward pull in the X Factor cash

John and Edward are helping ITV pull in huge advertising revenues on the back of their contraversial appearances on the hit X Factor series. Already trouncing rivals Strictly Come Dancing in the viewing stakes Jedward and the decision to keep them in week after week is helping the broadcaster sell 30 second time slots during the break for an estimated £190,000 this month. Insiders believe that figure could rise to a cool £250,000 by the time of the X Factor final in December especially if John and Edward are still in the running.

The final weekend of X Factor which includes two shows and the winners single being released to the download chart that very weekend is estimated to be worth around £6 million as christmas advertisers Argos, Nintendo, Sony and the like, queue up to chase the viewers cash.

John and Edward, dubbed  ‘Jedward’, despite not being the most talented singers have definetely been the stars so far with viewers tuning in as much to see if they can survive another week as to see their latest chaotic, energetic and fun performances.

When Simon Cowell opted to save Jedward last week when they were in the bottom two, the public went crazy with and the show hit new levels of hype so much that even if you have never watched the X Factor you surely will have heard of their most talked about contestants ever – John and Edward.

The pair have had the audience on the edges of their seats with their crazy routines each week and their lack of singing skills and strange dance steps do not seem to deter their fans from turning out to see and vote for them at every opportunity. Their individual style and wacky hair cut adds to their cult appeal amongst the younger viewers. Whether or not you think Jedward should still be in the show one thing is for sure, executives at ITV will be voting wearing vote John and Edward buttons this weekend.
