Jedward leave X Factor, John and Edward are out
John and Edward, left the X Factor tonight in week 7 of the live shows. In a surprise result, Jedward found themselves in the sing off with Olly Murs, who many thought of as a favourite to win the competition. After last night’s performances where John and Edward sang I’m your Man and Wham Rap, and the judges mixed reactions they must have feared being in the bottom two. Surely however, not with Olly, with Lloyd and Danyl favourites to join Jedward singing to save their X Factor lives.
The evening had started with a performance from Susan Boyle, the unlikely star of Britain’s Got Talent. Susan performed Wild Horses from her upcoming album. Then we had Mariah Carey – yes Susan Boyle and Mariah Carey on the same bill ! Mariah sang as beautifully as ever, performing her new single ‘I Want To Know What Love Is.’ The tension then started to mount as Dermott read out the results. In the end the final three were John and Edward, Olly and Lloyd and everyone must have thought it was going to be a Jedward v Lloyd sing off, but amazingly Olly found himself in the bottom two for the first time.
As their showdown song John and Edward performed a very emotional performance of No Matter What by Boyzone. However they looked like they knew their fate before they had even begun singing. There would surely be no chance of Simon sensationally reprieving them this time around and Jedward knew they would be going home to Dublin after a rollercoaster 3 months on The X Factor.

Choose Life - Choose Jedward
In the end, the knockout blow was delivered by Dannii after Louis and Simon had saved their respective acts and Cheryl had saved Olly. Dannii asked ‘Is it a singing competition’ before saving Olly and kicking Jedward out of the X Factor.
Best of luck John and Edward, you have been the life and soul of X Factor 2009 – we will miss you.

We were so disappointed that Jedward are out tonight. As my 10 year old son said, “whats the point in watching X Factor now, it will be really boring.”
We all agree with that – such a shame. Going to watch Strictly now !

Im soooo gutted
How do I get tickets to see John and Edward?
Year after year xfactor is populated with earnest warblers, albeit with good voices, hitting drawn out high votes with mouths stretched to capacity and epiglottis disturbingly visible, to rapturous applause. Audiences respond to every cue not matter how obvious as producers and editors create their narrative arc designed to reduce all of us to tears. Finally one contestant makes it to the charts and the ’slow mo’ christmas video, barely distinguishable from any of its predecessors. I have always found this process difficult to watch without feeling a bit ill…UNTIL THIS YEAR. What fantastic anti-heroes John and Edward represented. I am grateful to them for brightening up these cold and damp winter weekends and for saving us telly addicts from the barren wastes of reality t.v. Xfactor just voted itself off this viewers television.

So upset Jedward left, I actually cried! :’(
But hopefully they will get a TV/Music career or something, and I still have the X Factor Tour to look forward to. Can’t wait to see them.
