Unbelievable ! – John and Edward do Britney and how ! From the shiny red suits, through the Titanic tribute and all the way to a Britney finale – they show the rest of the drab contestants what the show is really all about. They started by saying they can sing ‘Fact’, and in truth they really can’t – or at least not in tune. Does it matter ? Well perhaps it would if you really think they are going to win a recording contract at the end of X Factor 2009 but I don’t think even John and Edward believe this. In truth all that matters is that they gave their best, were thoroughly entertaining and made us all smile.

It must take a lot of guts to get up on stage in front of thousands of people and millions watching at home, in the outfits they had on to dance and sing to Britney Spears’s best known and song. For a couple of just turn eighteen year olds just having fun it was a great performance and one that will live long in the X Factor memory. The shows producers are obviously going to carry on in this vein and give the dublin twins an all singing all dancing extravaganza of a song every week that they stay in. If anyone has ever tried singing and dancing (to a choregraphed routine) at the same time they will know it is far far harder than it is to just stand at a mic and sound great.

What did the Judges think ? – Who cares – Simon slated them as usual, but at least Dannii and Cheryl gave them some compliments (even if they were a bit back handed). Did the crowd boo and jeer – of course some of them did, they always will. However I bet every single one of them will remember John and Edward’s rendition of Oops I did it Again a lot longer than they will remember all of the other performance from tonight. You go guys – enjoy yourselves and keep making us smile.
