John and Edward – 18th birthday today

John and Edward Grimes turned 18 today and celebrated the milestone with a birthday cake and a song. Singing to Whitney Houston in rehearsals for the show on their birthday ! I bet the boys just could not believe their Irish luck.

The best birthday present of all though will surely be to make it through another week in this years X Factor finals. Do they have a prayer, you better believe it. Singing talent aside the boys have shaken this years show and at least given us all something to talk about without the usual sob story, fame school background of many a contestant of yesteryear.

I for one will be hoping the lads stay in all the way to the final. What they lack in singing talent they make up for with their fun outlook and never say die attitude. Happy birthday John and Edward, enjoy your cake and eat it!
